Melissa A. Berman

In 1980, upon graduating from Court Reporting Institute in Portland, Oregon, Ms. Berman began developing a strong client base working as a pro-tem court reporter in circuit and juvenile courts around the state.

In the following years Ms. Berman has provided court reporting services at thousands of depositions, countless hearings before the Oregon Public Utility Commission and myriad numbers of arbitrations and administrative hearings before various State agencies and boards.

Ms. Berman recalls providing court reporting services at public meetings as being “always fun,” especially the time she was hired by the Oregon Department of Veterans’ Affairs to report a five-hour question and answer session between a ten-member VA panel and over one hundred computer vendors.

By the mid-eighties, with more work than she could cover alone, Ms. Berman began to bring together a team of independent contractors, locally and around the state, to ensure her client base was covered and her business could grow and continue to provide professional quality court reporting services.
